Fady Elkholy is a talented filmmaker based in Cairo, Egypt, whose journey in the film industry began in 2018. With a passion for blending cultural heritage with contemporary narratives, Fady has directed over 9 projects, including shorts, documentaries, music videos, and interactive films. His work is characterized by innovative storytelling techniques and a deep commitment to showcasing Egyptian identity and culture. Fady holds a degree in Applied Arts and Sciences from the German University in Cairo, with a strong background in media design, product design, and graphic design. He is the founder of Cartona Studios, where he has worked as a writer, director, producer, and editor for numerous projects. His debut short film, "Isis" (2024), which follows the story of an Egyptian female superhero gaining the powers of the goddess Isis, has already been submitted to major film festivals, and is planned to be screened in 2025 - 2026. Fady’s short film "Badiaa' (2023), an interactive project that allows audiences to control the fate of characters Raya and Sekina, was featured at the Gouna Film Festival market 2024. His "We Are Adam" (2023), which was screened at the AUC Film Festival in 2024 and Lift off film festival (UK), further showcased his versatility in blending animation, live-action, and cultural storytelling. Fady’s body of work also includes "Blueberry Jam" (2022), "Shaware3na" (2022), and "Salam Salam" (2023), reflecting his diverse range and dedication to creative expression. As a member of the Egyptian Film Producers Club since 2022, Fady has continuously honed his craft and expanded his professional network. He also contributes to the industry as an instructor at Ain Shams University, where he teaches workshops on visual storytelling and storyboarding. His future projects include producing "Beyond the Nile" and directing "Dummies", a short film designed as a proof of concept for his upcoming feature film "Labeeb". Fady’s work has positioned him as a forward-thinking filmmaker who embraces technological innovation while remaining deeply rooted in Egyptian cultural narratives. With his creative vision and unique approach to filmmaking, Fady continues to shape the future of Egyptian cinema on both local and international stages.
